Blue Eagle, the King:  New College Cheer

The "BLUE EAGLE"(not FDR's New  Deal inspiration)  Ateneo's newest cheer song hit is taking the school campus by  storm.  Composed by "Rah Rah Ace"   Manglapus last  vacation, it  will come very handy when  the   Blue Babble Battalion  takes  the  stand once  more against rival cheering sections in the coming NCAA Basketball Series.

Audition

Considered the last word among locally composed  cheer   songs, it was  given an audition before Fr. Rector, Fr. Keane,  Fr. O'Beirne, and Fr. Dowd  for the  Faculty's approval last June 22 in  the   Auditorium.  With  the  composer on  the   "panama," the "jumping jacks" on  hand to help, a   score of Sophomore A.B. boys  led by  A.B.A. Solis  and  bass Jhocson sang the new song.  It was heartily applauded  by  the Fathers present and the Fr. Rector was  very much pleased with the  new battle song.

FIGHT!!

The "BLUE EAGLE" together with the Hail, Ateneo, Hail, the  Cheer, Cheer and  Go, the  Rhumba Yell, and other Blue  and   White  inspiring songs and yells will inspire  the Blue Eagles  to  dare  and  do. There will be  only  five members of the team on   the court at  a  time--but they  will soar  aloft  on   the cheering of Ateneo's one thousand  and nine hundred lusty throats.--Guidon:  Vol. XI, no. 1, 30JUN39, p.5&7.
