Vision of the Trinity |
|
| He had such devotion to the Holy Trinity that each day he | |
| would pray to each of the Three Persons.... And one day, while on | |
| the steps of the same monastery reciting the Office of Our Lady, his | |
| understanding began to be enlightened and he seemed to see the Holy | |
| Trinity in the figure of three organ keys. With this figure before him, he | |
| began to weep and the tears ran down so copiously and with such | |
| sobbing that he could not contain himself. And going that morning to a | |
| procession which started from the monastery, he could not hold back | |
| his tears even till dinner time. And after dinner he had his mind | |
| entirely engrossed in the figure that he could not speak of anything but | |
| the Holy Trinity. With great spiritual ecstasy and consolation, he spoke | |
| of the incident in many diverse comparisons; so much so that through- | |
| out his whole life there remained in him a great impression, that of | |
| feeling great devotion to the Holy Trinity. (III.28) |
