Exchange Programs
The Ateneo offers its students an opportunity to study abroad under a student exchange program during their undergraduate or graduate years in the university. A student exchange program is an agreement between two universities to exchange currently enrolled students on a semestral or yearly basis. Students participating in the exchange program usually pay their regular tuition to their home institution before leaving for their host institutions abroad. The host institution abroad will not charge the incoming exchange student tuition and fees. It is the student’s responsibility however to assume travel expenses (i.e. round-trip airfare) and living expenses while abroad (housing, food, books, pocket money, health insurance). In some countries, like France and Japan, students can apply for scholarships to help defray the living costs during their stay. While abroad, the student will take courses that can be credited back to his/her home institution. At the end of the student exchange term, which is usually one or two semesters, students return to their home university to continue their studies.
