Region 7: Central Visayas ••• Southern Cebu

Daang Lungsod

Two kilometers from Oslob is the remains of a fortified town, whose Visayan name means old town. This is the ancient site of Oslob. Except for the wall and bastions, no ancient structure remains in the town site. The small chapel within the defensive enclosure is of recent construction. On a hill beside the fortified town is an octagonal watchtower covered with vegetation. The trek up the hill is worth it for the panoramic view of the Bohol Strait and the neighboring islands. Like the fortified town, the watchtower is in disrepair, so explore cautiously.
