LM students join Hongkong Baptist University Summer Program 2005 Karl
Martin J. Balingit (IV BS LM) and Jobelle Luy (III - BS Mgt) were chosen
to participate in the Chinese Studies Program sponsored by the Hongkong
Baptist University. Both will embark on a Beijing Study Tour, which
focuses on the Socio-Economic Environments in China. from April 30 to May
20. Over
twenty years ago, China chose a path of openness and economic development
that has led to its becoming one of the world's most rapidly growing
economies. Given that Chinese socio-economic power is expanding daily, the
importance of learning about China cannot be overemphasized. The goal of
this course is to get students to study and understand the special
characteristics of China's society and economic development model, to
investigate, the driving force behind China's rapid growth (e.g.
innovation policy), and by extrapolating from past societal trends, to
predict the country's future course. |
